Haiku For Zara

Haiku for Zara Zendik

Distant carpenter
I was assigned to you
You tried to explain.

I went away with
Thoughts about your tool failings
Your dull old chisels.

Your confident ways
Woman building entire house
Straight out confident.

I felt so outclassed
Me, all about all this drama
Meanwhile you acting.

I left rather soon
I would have done better to
Learn from you some.

After I left I bought
A good set of chisels and
I mailed them to you.

Thought-provoking. Makes me wonder if I have sometimes left too soon out of fear of being hurt – before learning.

Wasn’t optional. Long story. But there is always the matter of looking back and seeing how one could have done things differently.
