For Damien

Haiku For Damien

You with your dog hat
Your kind support at times
I always liked you.

Then I went away
And you moved on, dear old friend
Though not all that old

I guess. I don’t know.
It became too difficult
I had to get out.

Then I came around
Again, because I missed you
And all our dear friends.

And here we are now
Alienation city
It sucks a whole lot.

I’ll always remember
How you were there saying you
Understood about us.

How you got it when
Women got run off by men
But the part you lost

The part you don’t see
Is how women get run off
By women, at times.

I hope you learn some
I don’t know much what to say
Except thanks for once

Being an awesome friend
One I missed so much that I
Came back to this place

This dumb Facebook place
I’ve found friends back again now
That’s good. I like it.

So Damien? What about
The dog with the nice earflaps
What happened to him?

I guess I could have
Written more about the dog
Turning robotic.

But it seemed a tad
Overkill, I was trying
To just say it’s sad.

And it is, it’s sad
As things are so frequently
When we flail at them.
