Like the First Bird

3 Dec

It took me four days to hitchhike from Saginaw

And the moon rose over an open field

To look for America

Buckles off shingles

Meet me Captain St Lucifer

Mama you’re a whiz and a scholar too

I cannot get o’er

Give me a boat

Like morning dew

All I ask of living is to have no chains on me

Don’t want to die uneasy

In a world to carry on

Like the first bird
