I’ve often been baffled by the belief that women are allowed by “society” to express emotion, that we have some higher “emotional IQ” because we are encouraged to express emotions and explore our feelings. When I was younger, I heard this, but I thought it was one of those gender stereotypes that perpetuated without any real basis in reality, and I thought that no one really believed such bullshit.
